This year, the District 98 STEM Scholarship Foundation (98 STEM) will be awarding scholarship(s) to graduating seniors who are citizens of the United States and whose home of record is in Texas House District 98. The applicant should plan to be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school by the first fall semester following announcement of the scholarship award.
The scholarship(s) are awarded to the student(s), and a check is made payable to the registrar at the recipient's school of choice. A copy of the student's registration must be submitted to the 98 STEM treasurer before a check will be sent to the registrar. The student must be registered for a minimum of fifteen (15) semester hours. Scholarship recipient(s) must use the funds awarded within a twelve-month period from the date of award.
Acceptance by the recipient(s) of a full scholarship from another source constitutes disqualification for the Scholarship. The 98 STEM Scholarship will then be awarded to the next eligible candidate(s).
In case of illness or other contingency that would prevent the enrollment of the selected applicant at the next regular semester in the college chosen, the Scholarship Committee will determine further disposition.
Detailed instructions for completing the application are included in the downloaded PDF.
